HELP FIND TONIC A HOME 🐶🧡🐾This #HAPFosterFriday we are reintroducing our handsome boy, Tonic, for day 7 of our 12 Days of HAP!

Tonic originally came to HAP as a puppy and was swiftly adopted. He was returned to the shelter at no fault of his own, after being severly attacked by another dog in the home. Unfortunately, he had a hard time adjusting back to the shelter environment. While we searched for a foster home to help him decompress, Tonic thrived in HAP’s Doggy Day Out program! Take a look what our volunteers had to say about him:

🧡”I took Tonic out, he knows how to tug on those heartstrings!! We went on a long walk and he was so good, just wanted to sniff everything! We got him a pup cup and went back to the house to play with some toys. He slept with his head on my lap the entire ride back to the shelter. I hope he gets adopted soon he is such a sweet boy!” - Brooke

🧡”We had a fantastic time with Tonic today. This boy is very special and I hope he finds he family soon! We took him to the River Front for a long walk. He wanted to say hi to every woman and child we passed and got some good pets from them. We ended our outing enjoying Starbucks and sitting in the sun. He was unsure of Gavin (adult male) at first, but warmed up snuggling him and giving him kisses! Not sure if sunbathing or the pup cup was Tonic’s favorite part of the outing.” - Taylor

🧡”Tonic did so well! He never barked at anything or anyone. I took him to my apartment, he almost immediately grabbed a toy and jumped up on the couch with my roommate, getting love and chewing on a toy. He settled faster than any other dog I’ve taken home! I think he’d be a great playful dog, who also loves some cuddly couch time!!” - Sawyer

TWO IS BETTER THAN ONE🐱❤️👭It’s day 6 of our 12 Days of HAP series and we are introducing two girls that would love a home together!

Meet Smokey and Bandit, our 2-year-old sisters! These girls came to HAP in February from a hoarding case, so this has been a big and scary change for them. We quickly arranged for these babies to spend some time in foster, to help socialize them in a more relaxing, calm environment than the shelter. Now that they are back, they have started to settle in to their quiet room together!   Smokey is the more outgoing of the two, though she can be shy at first. She enjoys playing, so she can usually be won over by some playtime! Bandit tends to be more of the observer, she likes to hang back on the sidelines while her sister takes the lead. After some time, they are both super sweet girls who love to hang out with their people friends! Smokey and Bandit both do well with other cats, but we recommend they go to a home with no dogs and no children.

SWEET BISCOTTI 🐶💕 This #HAPWoofWednesday als

SWEET BISCOTTI 🐶💕 This #HAPWoofWednesday also marks day 5 of our 12 Days of HAP series! We are pleased to introduce a girl who is full of life and longing for love!

Biscotti, fondly known as “Biscuit” to our staff, packs a lot of personality in her short stature! She came to HAP in September from a local rescue partner when they no longer had space for her. Biscotti has been overlooked by many adopters for her very ✨dramatic✨ presence in her kennel, which can be intimidating. However, once she’s out of the stressful kennel environment, her true personality shines!

BIscotti is a 2-year-old energetic but extremely lovable girl! When she’s not being snuggled by the many staff who adore her, she is likely leaping around our fenced fields or playing with toys. Biscotti enjoys making friends with people and other dogs! She loves participating in doggy playgroup to get her energy out. Though she can be a little too excited at times, /he takes direction from other dogs very well and will ease up if they let her know she’s being extra. Biscotti is also eager to please, very treat-motivated, and already knows basic commands. While she is very friendly, we would recommend older or dog-savvy kids, as she is not always aware of her size and strength!
