On December 14 & 15 HAP will be participating in the MEGA Adoption Event led by our friends at Brandywine Valley SPCA, powered by Petco Love and BOBS from Skechers, and sponsored by Discover! The adoption fee for all animals will be reduced to just $35.

The event runs from 12pm-5pm each day. Please note, while all three HAP locations will be participating in the event, HAP Rehoboth is CLOSED SUNDAYS.

All animals available during the MEGA Adoption Event are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have received age-appropriate vaccinations.

With hundreds of adoptable animals, attending the Mega Adoption Event is a wonderful way to find your perfect furry family member. The adoption process focuses on helping you find the right match for your family, and staff and volunteers will be on-site to help you with your selection!

All animal rescue organizations participating in the event will use the same adoption process, and the $35 adoption fee applies to all animals. The adoption fee includes:

• Spaying/neutering
• Microchipping
• Age-appropriate vaccines
• FREE Healthy Start exam within 14 days from a VCA Animal Hospital near you and $250 credit towards follow-up cafe if any of the following conditions are detected:
  
  Common Skin Disorders
  Ear & Eye Infections
  Urinary Tract Infection
  Upper Respiratory Infection
  Suture Removal
  Vomiting or Diarrhea of an Infectious Origin (excluding Parvo)
  Kennel Cough
  Internal Parasites

What to Bring

You’ll just need to bring the few items listed below to complete an adoption.

• $35 adoption fee (cash or credit card)
• Leash & collar for a dog (also available for purchase)
• Carrier for a cat (also available for purchase)
• ​The Mega® Adoption Event strives to help families make the correct match for their homes. All HAP locations will have outdoor meet and greet areas for adopters with other dogs in the home. Please note, a valid rabies certificate must be presented prior to a meet and greet. Staff can also speak to adopters about facilitating safe first-introductions at home, and behavior support is available through our friends at Black Dog Behavior & Training.
