WILMINGTON, DE, July 31, 2023 – Humane Animal Partners(HAP) is a statewide animal welfare organization with adoption centers in Wilmington, Stanton/Christiana, and Rehoboth Beach, teaming up with shelters across the country to find loving homes for companion animals as part of NBC10 Philadelphia and Telemundo 62’s “Clear the Shelters.” This special nationwide “Adopt & Donate” campaign officially runs from Tuesday, August 1 through Saturday, August 31.
To encourage potential adopters, all Humane Animal Partners adoption center locations will feature several adoption fee discounts, complimentary pet supplies, and event ticket giveaways for adopters throughout the month. The ‘Name Your Price’ adoption promotion, eligible for all adult animals, will take place August 3 – August 6. Additionally, all animals featured each week on Humane Animal Partner’s Facebook and Instagram pages will be ‘Name Your Price’ during the week they are posted. The minimum adoption fee for the ‘Name Your Price’ promotion is $25. Adopters can choose to pay the minimum adoption fee or more – additional fees help support the intake, medical, and well-being costs of the animals while in our care.
Each week, a new promotion applying to all animals will be announced to encourage folks to not only adopt the first week but continue their support for the entire month. Select animals across the shelter locations will have their adoption fees half-off or fully waived throughout the month of August. Animals that are half-off or fully waived have their adoption fees updated on the Humane Animal Partners website. Future adopters can see which animals have their adoption fees waived by visiting humaneanimalpartners.org.
“Adoptions have slowed down over this past summer. As a result, we have hundreds of animals currently sitting in our adoption centers, some of which have been waiting for months,” says Patrick Carroll, Chief Executive Officer of Humane Animal Partners. Carroll continues, “We are hopeful that through our participation in Clear the Shelters this August, families will not hesitate to come out and adopt!”
Adopters will also have the opportunity to win free or discounted tickets to upcoming fundraising events. Eligible events include HAP’s Casino Night hosted at Baywood Greens on September 21 and the Fast and the Furriest 5k on October 8. All of Humane Animal Partners’ adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, given age-appropriate vaccines and preventatives, tested for heartworm, microchipped, dewormed, and examined by a veterinarian prior to adoption.
